Our 5-Day intensive is designed to improve clinical skills in play therapy. Participants will work directly with a child client in our playroom while being supervised by a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. The session will be digitally recorded, so after the session, therapists will meet with the supervisor to review to receive coaching on techniques to get deeper into the imaginative play and communicate with the child. Sessions will also include a “bug in the ear” so immediate coaching is available during the play therapy session.

In addition to clinical experience and supervision, lectures will include the history of Experiential Play and seminal theories in play, ethics, documenation, setting up the playroom, use of metaphor and special populations.

During the 5 days, participants will earn 40 hours of credits that may be used to apply for your Registered Play Therapist registration. As always, it is the ultimate decision of the Association for Play Therapy to accept and designate credits earned.

This training requires participants to be a licensed mental health provider or a student in a graduate mental health program. Class limit is 5 participants.
