Learning Objectives:

  1. To attain a working knowledge of the development of the “mirror neuron” process in play therapy and its appropriateness for preverbal trauma in

    children during Experiential Play Therapy®.

  2. To explain the play therapy sensory requirements to make this process effective in Experiential Play Therapy®.

  3. To demonstrate a basic knowledge of the application of the mirroring process in play therapy for play therapists to effectively perform and convey

    this nonverbal-sensory intervention process.

  4. To assess and individualize the impact of this process during play therapy on the child’s receptive sensory systems for distressed trauma and

    eventually the soothing experience for activating the healing process.

  5. To facilitate the Therapeutic Mirroring Process® to the eventual soothing experience during play therapy for activating the healing process within the

    child client.
